You want to lower costs for your massive amount of content? If you have a lot of video to be uploaded to scoopa.com - more than the included volume per month - you can lower costs for the Highspeed Storage by managing your content. If this is your choice you need to manage the archive very actively to use the included storage at its best.

Here comes how it works:

The minimum presence for each file (and with it the GB of this file) in the Highspeed Storage is 7 days. So if the archiving process of this file comes into effect after this period you can use the GB again within this month. In theory you can have 1 GB used 4 times per month. Please be aware that this operation needs a very intense and good management with exact timings and it cannot be automated at present.

Manual Workflow:

1. You upload any file.

2. After the upload you select this file within the platform and click the button "archive". -> The File is now in the cue of 7 days to be archived. (notice: there is a dialogue within uploading named "File will be auto-archived after the first billing period" - this is NOT the same as this results in archiving the file before will be charged in Highspeed Storage a second time - in most cases after 30 days)

3. After 7 days and 1 hour you upload another new file.

As a month has 28, 30 or 31 days you can put this workflow in effect 4x times a month but then you really need to make sure the upload and archiving is done within the 1 hour window: 1st day of the month 00:00-01:00 for step 1+2 (meaning also you need a good internet connection to upload 200 GB within 59 minutes) followed by the 3rd step at 7th day of the month 01:00-02:00 and so on.

This is the workflow which works in theory to make the best out of the given free storage. This operation is 100% in the responsibility of the administrators!

Conclusion: We believe that it is possible to have a 3-times turnover per GB per month which makes 600 GB new uploads possible within Enterprise-Contract.

Restore process (from archive):

Restoring content from archive into the Highspeed Storage can be managed similiary. Within the dialogue to restore content you are asked for how long you want to restore the file (after this period the file is archived again automatically). If you choose 7 days you can manage the storage same as mentioned above.

The "owners" and "administrators" of platforms can define an individual "Storage Limit" or alternatively an "Usage Alert" under Settings > Cost Control. While the second option only sends a notification by e-mail, the "Storage Limit" blocks the platform until it is unblocked again.

The scoopa pricing model is based on three price packages (Basic, Professional, Enterprise), which do not differ in terms of scoopa's performance - compare scoopa Pricing. Only the budget for included "high-speed storage", "archive storage" and traffic (download) as well as the price factors for additional demand for these factors vary. In addition, an Enterprise customer can open as many scoopa platforms as he wants and also receives even more extensive support. In this way, everyone can find the most suitable scoopa contract for their individual usage intensity.
